[LATE] Drugstore Cosmetic Launches for Australia -- December 2013

Ahhhhh. Sorry, very late post this month! And kinda half assed too. I'm overseas (in Vietnam) at the moment, so I'm always busy going here and there! Not enough time for myself to sit and whip up blog posts. I also haven't had any time online, so I've no idea what products are "in" at the moment!

However, I still have access to some brand listings, so here are the very fewer that I've gathered...

Max Factor Mini Nail Polish Summer Collection ($5.95/4 shades)
A limited edition nail collection by Max Factor for their mini's! Supposed to be your go-to's for this summer season!

Covergirl Lipstick Smoochies
($4.95/3 shades)
These are pretty much lip balms, which combines all the ideal qualities of a lip product -- lightweight, moisturising, non-sticky and delivers sheer colour to the lips, with a glossy sheen.

Covergirl Outlast Stay Brilliant Glosstinis ($4.95/8 shades)
Faaaaaancy name! Described to be chip-resistant, smooth and pigmented, these glossy nail lacquers are suppose to last on your nals for up to seven days, whilst only requiring one application.

Innoxa 2 in 1 Eye Liner & Eye Shadow Stick ($14.95/6 shades)
Dual eyeliner and eyeshadow sticks for your convenience! The eyeshadow is spring-mounted, so don't fear about not being able to sharpen the thing, while the eyeliner is described to glide on easily and define the eyes effortlessly.

Innoxa Satin Sheen Lipsticks ($14.95/6 shades)
Last product, also by Innoxa, is their new lipstick range! The formula of these lipsticks promises a bold, full coverage payoff with a long-lasting power. Also contains a bunch of oils (primrose, jojoba, avocado) to moisturise and hydrate the lips.

Yeap. Five products for this month, because I'm totally out of the beauty world at the moment! You wait though! I've already got February launches lined up, and all I can say is.......

I don't tell u.

Stay tuned for it, but this is all for now! :P
Hopefully, I'll be able to post more soon~ I miss you all!

Priceline 40% OFF Haul

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Priceline had a 40% OFF sale on all cosmetics earlier this week, on Tuesday and Wednesday. Sorry for all who've missed out (hopefully none of you did), but for those who knew of the sale, tell me.. what did you hoard!?

The night before the sale, my sister actually told me it was going to happen tomorrow. I wasn't pumped AT ALL, to be honest. I didn't really look forward to purchasing any more products, nor did I look forward to spend any more money on unnecessities. However, the question still remains:

Did I, or did I not?!

Of course I did! T~T
Besides the title of this post giving it away, if you know me well, then this should come to you with no surprise. Hmph!

Ok... now onto what I bought!

For Priceline's kickass 40% off sales, the first brands I look at are actually essence and Savvy by DB. Mainly, because they rarely have sales, and not to mention that their products are already quite cheap, so a further 40% off will drop their price down to less than a penny............ K, maybe not that less, but still!

Hit up essence, and saw this range of lippies that I've never seen before. Picked up 5 out of the 7-8 shades! They were only $4.10 each (RRP), so they costed around $2.50 per lippy. I don't like their other regular range (packaged in red tube), so I just skipped those.

Yessssssss. Also some of these eyeliners. Pray that they actually will last. Costed around $1.50 per eyeliner only! I went back the next day to check if they have a navy blue colour, but all gone!

Huehue. Nail polishes!! That's What I Mint and The Boy Next Door by essence. Dirt cheap. I actually have a candy blue colour by essence at home already, and it's ALSO named as "The Boy Next Door". Eeeeep. what's going on here?!

Besides that fuss, my sweet mother also showed me this lilac colour (Grape Jelly by Savvy by DB) that "you should get". Sneaky mumma has always loved lilacs, so this one's for her! ^-^

....And of course, I couldn't pass up these Face Of Australia Carnivale Nail Lacquers! I felt kinda bummed when I didn't see them at the FOA stand, but I'm glad I found them on the top shelf, next to the stand! I picked up the remaining four colours that I didn't have from my previous swatch post.

I shall play and swatch them soon! Promise!!

As for now, back to dramas and being a couch potato in this gloomy, rainy Sydney weather! :P

Sally Hansen Lustre Shine Nail Colour in Scarab

Finally back to regular blog posts! Of course, starting off with nail colours to get myself back in blogging mood!

I'm not too sure when this nail colour came abouts to my collection. I'm actually not sure if it's mine at all, as I don't remember purchasing this from the markets, and I have never ever purchased any Sally Hansen nail lacquers from the stores!

Sally Hansen Lustre Shine Nail Lacquers actually doesn't retail for that much... not as much as I thought they would anyways. They're only $9.95 in stores, with occasional sales. But really, even with 50% OFF, I'd still give this range a second thought! As nice as these look in the bottle, I'm not too sure if duochromatics are really my thang.

This particular shade I have called 'Scarab', is... er... what it is.... Give me a break guys! I struggle to describe basic cream colours, so let alone duochromatics!

I actually don't think I'd ever touch this shade if it wasn't for my sister. She was just casually posting her nail photos on Instagram, which popped up on my feed! Yes! She has a nail Instagram, her handle is @bailmynails. She described the colour to be "disappointing", but I don't think so! Do you?

Yes, it photographs to look somewhat streaky, but hey! Isn't that just within the nature of foily duochromes? Not to mention that you can barely see it in real!

As for the formula, it's quite thin, but still remains to be impressively pigmented. Two coats is enough, but three coats for a fuller opacity! The brush looks like this...

Squared, but easy to use for my square shaped nails. However, for its long-lasting power, it's sad to say, but I actually have no idea! I never apply nail lacquers directly to my nails anymore. I always use a peel-off base coat, so it wouldn't be fair for me to comment upon how long it lasts, right?!

Have you tried Sally Hansen's Lustre Shine range?

I'm aware that Sally Hansen has came out with a few new hyped ranges recently, such as their Fuzzy Coat range and Sugar Coat range~ I do have a few shades of their Fuzzy Coat range, but I've still yet to post about them as I don't know how to coordinate the colours nicely. Other bloggers' swatches looks soooo nice, and then there's mine... meh.

I'm not the most creative person, so give me about ten more years. I'm sure I'll find a nice colour combination by then! :P

Drugstore Cosmetics Launches for Australia -- November 2013

Hi everyone! Sorry for the late post this month. For anyone who follows my YouTube channel, I probably won't be able to make a video this month! Huhu! I have the baddest sore throat and still feelin' hot and cold at the moment. I'm a little sick goose.

Let's put all the illness aside though, and look forward to this month's awesome launches!

~

Face Of Australia Sheer Gloss Lip Crayons ($14.95/7 shades)

  • Glides on smoothly
  • Provides sheer gloss colour

  • Have a vanilla scent

I love vanilla scented products!! We'll see how this goes! The colour range looks nice too, as it seems to cover all back-to-basic shades.

Natio Smoothie Lip Colour Crayons ($12.95/8 shades)
See! I told you! Then there's also Natio with their new range of lip crayons, but unlike FOA's, these lip crayons promises rich colour payoff!

Chi Chi Baked Eyeshadows ($14.95/24 shades)
Baked eyeshadow singles for all you Chi Chi lovers! Chi Chi describes their baked eyeshadows to be "smooth, long-lasting and highly pigmented". Formulated without parabens and is designed to be applied wet or dry! Available in so many shades too!

Covergirl Ink It! Eyeliner ($12.94/4 shades)
Finally a Covergirl product (besides their lip products) that actually looks enabling! These eyeliners are described to be waterproof, highly pigmented and fade-proof and crease-proof for up to 12 hours!

Australis Veleourlips Matte Cream ($9.95/5 shades)
These only launched recently, but I'm sure you've heard about these all over Insta! Deemed to be highly pigmented, long-lasting and also comes with the mattest finish that one can have without the flaky-business!

L'Oreal Paris SuperLiner Blackbuster Eyeliner ($16.95/1 shade)
This one, is a marker-pen eyeliner that offers a "thick liner technique". The eyeliner is formulated to glide on the eye smoothly, lasting for eight hours. Easy to remove! I've seen swatches and it looks extremely black!

L'Oreal Paris Luminosity Code BB Cream ($29.95/2 shades)
Dubbed as "the first illuminating BB Cream that evens skin tone and covers imperfections", this new BB cream is a combination of the best skincare and cosmetics technology! It has a light and luxurious formula that instantly melts into the skin, whilst keeping the skin moisturised for 24 hours and protecting it from UV rays. Of course, leaves it with a fresh and flawless luminous finish.

LACURA Beauty Colour Sticks ($6.99/2pk)
I've never ever featured this brand on my blog.... I don't think! But in case you're not aware of Lacura, it is Aldi's very own beauty brand. I've heard about SOME of their beauty products (including skincare products), but these products are newly launched. I've only known from their latest catalog, so I have absolutely NO information about these, except for its price and that it comes in a pack of 2 colours! A snippet of their catalogue...

Chi Chi's New Viva La Diva Lipstick Shades ($18.95/6 NEW shades)
Okay, with their usual richly coloured and long-wearing formula, Chi Chi has now added 6 new shades to their existing range of 36 shades. Here are a few photos.... (I can't locate their press images!).

*credits to @ChiChiOfficialCosmetics on Instagram*

Sportsgirl Pucker Up Lip Crayons ($8.95/3 shades)
Eeeee! More lip crayons, but by Sportsgirl this time around... I'm not 100% sure why I have no info on these... On Sportsgirl's website, they are just described to be "long wearing matte lip crayons" @_@!

I LOVE their 'Fruit Tingle' Pout About It Lipstick... I'd like to try out their lip crayon named after the same shade... Huhuhuhu.

Sally Hansen Spring Racing Collection ($9.95/7 shades)
If you're looking to update your nail collection this Spring/Summer, Sally Hansen has something for you! Their new Spring Racing Collection has been around since September, so I'm a little late on this! Only available exclusively to Priceline!

Last, but not least..... NEW LASHES!!

By who?

Glam By Manicare of course!
Five new pairs of lashes, named and inspired by 5 top celebrities! I'm in a rush to study for my exams at the moment, so I'm just gonna slip in this photo n jet!

So sorry for the rush this month! I'll make sure to be more prepared.... next year. I will be flying away to Vietnam in December, so I can't promise next month's launch post. Huhuh! I will try my best though! However, as always...

Let me know which products you are keen on!
What! Why! Where! Who! How!

Tell me everything!

Think Pink! -- A small pink [market] haul!

Tell me guys! What is the first brand that hits your mind when the colour pink is mentioned! Is it not Australis? :P

For me, Australis is the first brand that comes to mind when I first started this Think Pink! project, but sadly, I don't think you'd be able to handle my continuous raves over the brand, so nah.

Anyways, I haven't updated you with my market hauls in a looooooooooooong time! Have I stopped? Nope. I've just been lazy so they're sitting in bags at the corner of my room (again!). Let's start off with the smallest bag though.

Most are Australis products, I'm not too sure where the girl was getting her Australis products from, but all I know was that she had quite a few at her stall each week. I've passed the other day and just had to pick up a few items that she was selling, as they were cheap and were products that I've finished, but have yet to repurchase. Yes, I'm forever waiting for sales x-x. Wait untill they discontinue and I still won't buy unless there's a sale LOL.

Didn't purchase too many items from her, but still spent a whopping $25. $25 is a lot of money at the markets, okay? Considering that things are usually so cheap.

My second eyeshadow primer! I can finally dispose my first tube and finally stop trying so hard to scoop out all the last bits. It lasted me a fair while as I've only ever used it as a base for my eyeliners! Purchased this for $4?

Also finally repurchased Australis Make-Up Finishing Spritz! I haven't used this in yonks and no, I don't use it as a finish make-up spray! I actually use it to blend in some of my liquid foundations. Dot foundation on face, spritz spray onto brush and then blend away! I've purchased this for $4 or $5, can't really remember x_x

Yoshhhhhhhh, a bunch of their Lash & Brow Extenders, because they were so cheap! Only $2 per! I'm nowhere near finishing my first one that I use as a brow gel, but having these for back-ups wouldn't hurt. Or maybe one day when I understand the point of using a clear mascara. Eeek.

Last, but not least! Australis' Kiss Me Quick Lip Pencils. I have their Nudie Rudie shade, and although I'm not very impressed with the formula, these were must-purchases because they were also only $2 each!!!

I still have another market haul, but that is all I've purchased for last week! I will make sure to update on the other haul some time soon! ^-^

Oooooo, tomorrow is also Halloween! Wishing you all a safe and happy Halloween everyone! ^-^

Think Pink! -- Essie Nail Lacquer in 757 Super Bossa Nova

My nail stash consist of many, many pink varnishes! Probably 3 handfuls of pink lacquers, and most are of medium to deep tones, just like this one by Essie, called Super Bossa Nova! This is probably my first Essie feature by the way (thanks to my sister.... again!).

Unlike my other cremes, Super Bossa Nova is a deeper pink which sides with fuschia/magenta tones and is infused with fine fuschia shimmers.

It applies with a lesser glossy finish, somewhat dull. I wished it'd apply to be more glossy, as I am rarely bothered to apply my own top coat!

The formula is very opaque, which honestly didn't surprise me, after all the raves within the beauty community! I could hit opacity easily within two coats, but I did find the brush to be a tad too small for my nails. The brush is probably half the size of OPI's brushes (along with many other lacquers I have within my collection) and as you could tell, I have really large nails so it does take me that extra effort. @_@

But overall, although I have nothing against this shade, I feel like there's no interesting spice to it. Sad to say, but it's just another pink in my collection really. Not very interesting, and I don't quite like the fuschia shimmers that's paired with it.

Oh well, since I'm done with using you Super Bossa Nova, time to return you back to my sister's room! As for my readers, will make sure to update you with other Essie shades my sister owns! Hah.. (fingers crossed that she's not reading this).

What are your FAVOURITE essie shades?!
Must tell me!

Essie Nail Lacquer in Super Bossa Nova, $17.95, available in a bunch of shades ranging from cute pastels to lovely deep darks.
